Learn the art of crafting authentic tamales from scratch, guided by our chef's passion for traditional Mexican cuisine tamales. This hands-on workshop covers everything from the basics of preparing flavorful masa dough to creating delectable fillings and mastering the art of assembling and steaming perfect tamales.
What you'll learn- Masa preparation: Discover the secrets to achieving the ideal masa consistency, essential for tender and flavorful tamales. Filling variations: Explore a range of authentic tamale fillings, including succulent pork and chicken, along with traditional salsa roja and other delicious options. Assembly and wrapping techniques: Master the skill of spreading masa onto corn husks and expertly wrapping tamales for optimal cooking and flavor. Steaming process: Learn the proper techniques for setting up and steaming tamales to perfection. You will also be taking your homemade tamales home to freeze or enjoy for dinner!

Each class is 2-3 hours in length during which we will teach you new techniques and methods to get more flavor from the foods that you cook every day. Learn how to caramelize the natural sugars of your ingredients and enhance your meals in new and exciting ways that are sure to impress even the most finicky family and friends.
Our doors will open 30 minutes prior to class, allowing you time to be social, unwind and enjoy any beer or wine that you wish to bring. We supply aprons, bottle openers, glasses, ice, water and lemonade, as well as a snack to enjoy upon arrival. Wear something comfortable and bring your stretchy pants as we ensure you will be leaving our table full! We'll see you in the Kitchen.
